[December 4th] Hot Hans-Peter

Fräulein Zebra Xmas

It’s icy cold outside so I guess the only way to warm up is some booze:

Hot Hans-Peter

I guess I need to explain that. In Germany we have a drink called Hugo, made of sparkling wine, elderflower syrup and some mint leaves. This is also pretty common to be served in a hot version at all the christmas markets right now. But I decided to add a dash of peppermint syrup and some brown sugar – so now I’m going to introduce you to Hugo’s big brother Hans-Peter:

Hot Hans-Peter

make 2 cups

  • 400ml white wine
  • 4 tbsp peppermint syrup
  • 2 tbsp elderflower syrup
  • 2 tbsp orange juice
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

Put everything in a little pot and heat it up until everything dissolved and the wine is hot – but do not boil! Pour into cups and serve immediatley.

Don’t worry when you don’t have any pretty cups – the taste of the wine is so great that you won’t need anything fancy 🙂

I really hope you’ll like Hans-Peter as much as I do!
